Happy New Year!

It's been a crazy few months for me and I haven't been able to get any blogging done for a while. That said, I still had a few minor victories in the hobby department. I've got my first Tactical Squad primed and base coated. I tried to snap a photo of them but the lighting is pretty horrible due to thunderstorm clouds and my camera battery and it's backup died 10 photos in. Not a big deal as they're just green marines at the moment. Nothing special.

I'm planning to get the eyes done first before I go any further with the armour. That way if I botch it, I can just try again without too much clean up work. The problem is that I didn't have all the paints I wanted for the eyes so I had to order them in from my local gaming store and that was about two months ago now. They don't normally stock the paint I wanted so they had to order it in just for me and have been getting the run-around from the supplier. It's not a big deal since I've been crazy busy with real life stuff lately so I've just shelved them until I get the paint.

I did get some of my Ravenwing Landspeeders built and the missile pods and assault cannons are magnetized. It took some trial and error but I think I've worked out a good way to do it. They're still very much a work in progress at this point. I managed to get a barely acceptable photo of them before the camera died.

Some semi-built Ravenwing Landspeeders

The Landspeeder on the far right is from the Ravenwing Battleforce box and the other two are from regular Landspeeder boxes. While I think the Ravenwing Battleforce box is awesome, the Landspeeder in it leaves a lot to be desired regarding ease of building. The pieces barely fit together properly and when they do, they leave big gaps. As a result, I plan to heavily convert it into the Master of the Ravenwing's Landspeeder. Hopefully this will hide all the gaps and end up looking pretty cool.

Stay tuned for more.
